about Planktos Science
We are based in the San Francisco Bay area, coastside near Half Moon Bay, but constantly at work on projects which are almost exclusively outside of the United States.
Our offices are comprised of a head office here in California, and affiliated offices in Vancouver Canada and Budapest Hungary. We are a high tech business fully functional through the miracles of the Internet, e-mail, SKYPE, and cell and iridium phones anywhere on this small blue planet.
Our founders have a life long history of not merely talking about the environment and the need to protect, enhance, restore, and conserve it. If you were to visit some of the ecorestoration work sites we've worked on, you might travel to the remote Selkirk Mountains of British Columbia, the watersheds of the Great Bear Rainforest, the high alpine tundra's of the far Northern Rocky Mountains, and the deserts of the American West. There you will find the plants lovingly planted by our own hands: tundra grasses, alpine conifers, giant rainforest spruce and cedars, and desert plants, all growing for now as long as 36 years, vital, healthy, life giving, and supporting damaged ecosystems brought back to life. read more of our unique history here...
The team we've put together includes highly experienced professional ecologists, marine biologists, savvy finacial officers, carbon market experts in the European Union, top flight regulatory affairs managers from the energy industry, legal advisors, the most experienced green ship captains and crews, chemists, engineers, and keen young people all with passion. This is a company comprised of the greenest hearts and souls of any on the planet. Join with us there is work to be done for our children and generations yet to be born.
Some of us were once called Rainbow (Eco) Warriors but Mother Teresa changed all that with her sage comment when asked whether she would join a war protest, she remarked, "I will become part of a peace effort but I will not be associated with war in any way whether by word or deed." She was right and we are no longer Eco Warriors, the time has come not to fight but to heal.
More information will be appearing here from time to time.
On the way here are some words for inspiration.
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by,
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking,
And a gray mist on the sea's face, and a gray dawn breaking.
I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.
I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull's way and the whale's way, where the wind's like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover,
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over
John Masefield
How long have you been a sailor ?
All my bloomin' life.
Me mother was a mermaid.
Me father was King Neptune.
I was born on the crest of a wave
And rock the cradle of the deep.
Seaweed and barnacles are me clothes,
The hair on me head is hemp,
Every bone in me body's a spar,
And when I spit, I spit tar.
I'se hard, I is, I am, I are.

Ships are the nearest things to dreams that hands have ever made,
For somewhere deep in their oaken hearts the soul of a song is laid
